History of Rock: 1990s decade

Hi! At first, sorry... I've been a little time without post something but I've just returned. If you want to read similar post, click here. We're in difficult times related to music, because that, I remember to you the music we listened and we continue listening. Really I didn't listen because I was born in 2001 and I'm talking about 90s, I'm very proud of listening to the music that never come unfashionable, Rock.
In this decade we can found incredible bands like the already seen in other years and we're seeing yet, Metallica is a example. This band sold his album "Metallica", also known as "Black album", breaking records in sales.

History of Rock: 1980s decade

Hello again, today is the turn of 80s. If you want to read last post, please, click here. We're approaching to actuallity, I'm anxious to discover  with you all that Rock has to give us. In this post I'd like to talk only about some groups and grunge.

The 80s were good times to progressive and alternative rock. People say that rock died here but I don't think so, there were awesome bands, for sure too commercial but very influent to the actual society. I mean Nirvana or Guns and Roses that someones think they are clothes trademarks...
By the hand of Nirvana, "Smells like teen spirits" is their most popular song, into "Nevermind" we can find the mentionated song and other 12, of wich is important to mention "Come as you are" or "Lithium". Nirvana was usually grunge.

Red Hot Chili Peppers is the last group that I want to point out. I recommend personaly this group because, like the mentionated Pink Floyd album in last post, you can take part of the relaxing way with real themes or can't stop. Please, listen to them.

Thanks for all!

History of Rock: 1970s decade

1970s decade was as important as last decade, it is highly probable that even more but for Heavy Metal. In this years heavy metal bands like Black Sabbath, the already seen Led Zeppelin or Deep Purple are developed. In next posts I would like to focus on Queen, one of my favourites but don't today, because as I see it the queens of rock need an exclusive post for them.

member of Queen.

We can see punk rock on the greatest Ramones and the charismatic KISS with their faces... Also, it was born funk near to soul, probably you think in James Brown.
Whereas Pink Floyd post "The Dark Side of the Moon", in 1979 they release "Another Brick in the Wall". David Bowie or Alice Cooper began doing glam rock mixing progressive rock.

I would like to develope all these bands:

  • AC/DC.
  • Motörhead.
  • Scorpions.
  • Judas Priest.
  • UFO.
  • The Clash.
  • The Police.
  • U2.
  • Lynyrd Skynyrd.
  • ZZ Top.
  • Etc.

Things that I have to say, I will talk about them. New wave and specially hard rock. It should be pointed out that Bob Marley promoted reggae in Center America, a great musician.

I hope you like it, continue reading!

History of Rock: 1960s decade

We continue... To see last post click here.

"The British Invasion", from The Beatles to The Animals and seeing The Rolling Stones later, I think it's amazing. In addition, surf rock (Beach Boys in USA) and again in addition, the new way to play guitar (By the hand of Jimmy Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Keith Richards). Or maybe psicodelic rock, like Iron Butterfly with a 18 minutes song. The endless list. Leonard Cohen was here. Led Zeppelin? Yes, everyone were here. Also, the dark side of The Velvet Underground.

Do you like Bob Dylan? I think you rock.

If you want to know more about Rock, don't forget us and read more posts. Really, thanks!

History of rock: 1950s decade

Like I said in last post, I'm going to discuss History of Rock by decades. We began in 1950.
I've just talked about Elvis Presley and his first Rock & Roll song, but today I'm going to talk about other of the musicians most relevant in Rock & Roll, Chuck Berry.

He redefinate rhythm and blues with "black rock". His most popular song is "Johnny B. Goode", we have here a brilliant guitarist. This song appear in "Back to the future", an awesome film.

Also, there were more important musicians like Eddie Cochran, Jerry Lee Lewis or groups like The Shadows.

Beginnings of Rock

What's hap bloggers?! Today it's time to talk about the beginnings of Rock music. My intention is to learn more about the history of this genre.

Rock has its roots in Rock & Roll, it begins in 1950's decade by the hand of Elvis Presley maybe, it says Rolling Stone magazine, with "That's All Right Mama", the first Rock & Roll song. Maybe they were "Fat man" and "Rocket 88", historians aren't sure.
